florida has thousands of guards and volunteers coming to help for hurricane irma, and it hasn’t hit us yet. where is the help coming for barbuda, who the prime minister said that literally 90% of the island has been destroyed? (after they literally could NOT get a hold of him for 12+ hours after the storm hit), where is the help coming for puerto rico, who reports have said the entire island’s electricity might not even be operational for months to come? where’s the help for haiti and the dominican republic, who’s already struggling from earthquakes that happened over 10 years ago and hurricane matthew and a cholera epidemic? the places that need help the most are being ignored, simply because it isn’t the 50 states of the usa. please send donations, not the red cross (haiti has yet to see donations made from their 2007 earthquake), send care packages if you can’t send money. spread and reblog the word of other donations and people who help if you don’t have the finances or resources to help. these countries don’t have the means to bounce back after a category 5 hurricane has destroyed the entire island, please help them.
